September 29th - 30th 2023 an international group of scholars gathered for a two day symposium at the Met, where they presented new scholarship relating to themes explored in the Tree & Serpent exhibition. The keynote lecture was presented by Gregory Schopen, Professor Emeritus of Asian Languages & Cultures, University of California, Los Angeles.
